Our GCSE and A-Level students are in the height of their revision as exam season quickly approaches. We are approximately 6 weeks away from the first set of exams. Here are a few tips you can share with students within your network:
- Always have a plan…make a realistic revision timetable, detailing what subjects and topics you plan to cover, in what time slots taking much needed breaks into consideration.
- We’ve hinted at it already, take breaks! There’s a wealth of research that highlights the shortness of the human attention span. Make sure you’re giving yourself some down time. This will help you to refocus, but also let the things you’ve studied subconsciously marinate.
- Make sure you’re fuelling your body with the correct nutrients e.g water, healthy fatty foods known for memory retention (nuts, avocado, eggs, fish and meat). You will inevitably be using up a lot of energy revising, so make sure you’re always replacing that energy with that right amount of calories. If you have a sweet tooth, indulge (within reason, of course)
- Lastly, believe in yourself and your capability. Whilst you may be stressed, you have to remember that a lot can be achieved between now and your exams. Stretch yourself, but be kind to yourself. Challenge yourself, but be honest with yourself.
Remember, it always seems impossible until it’s done. The hardest part is getting started.
